For the Sadev gearbox we are going to make a custom silent block with 2 (round) T shaped rubbers that are fixed with 2 aluminium side flanges. (these are simular to the engine supports) These silentblocks will be put in a round Chromoly tube that will be welded on the chassis. A L shaped shackle on this construction is going to allow us to align the gear box.
Because we are going to use a big 210 diff we were forced to modify the support area. A 210 diff is about 3cm longer then the original 188 diff which means that the lid cannot be mounted because part of the frame is in the way.
We modified the frame as you can see in the pictures…
For the exhaust we made 4 small plates with M8 bolts, welded on the bottom of the car. We are going to screw supports with powerflex rubbers on these plates. We are also going to add some cables around the exhaust pipe so it can’t get lost during the stages when the rubbers fail..

It’s been a while since we posted an update but this had everything to do with the fact that the car was in the Netherlands at the Intrax plant. Because Dirk decided to change the front suspension the car needed to stay for a few weeks at Intrax.
Currently, the R-Box BMW is at Intrax to make the suspension. This means that we are gradually approaching the final phase and that we will have to determine the color and especially the layout. Usually we have enough inspiration but here we are with our hands in our hair. The basic color will more than likely be white and the intention is to incorporate red and black in it. (see our logo) But what it should look like in the end…, we actually have no idea yet. If someone has a lot of inspiration and / or is very creative graphically, you can of course always offer tips, suggestions,… report.
Even if you have a totally different idea of colors, even that we want to consider.
Furthermore, we can mention that the rims are golden, everything else is still fully open.
Thanks in advance …
Saturday morning we took an early start to prepare the body fot the next (crucial) step…the suspension.
Thursday November 1st we have a date at the Intrax buildings to deliver the car to mount one of the most important parts of the car. The suspension.
All pieces are falling in the right places..
Last weekend we got the body back from “De Carrossier” in Turnhout. Marc and Gert professionally put the roof back on the car.
Just one month to go and we can celebrate the 2nd birthday of “working on the beemer”.
The need for speed is increasing every day…
We were quite a while awaiting the clutch. Finally we got it.
This just leaves us to mill the final version of the bellhouse adapter.
Next step will be the build up.
