The graveyard shift…

Since we needed to deliver the car at the paint shop on saturday morning some guys of the team did not sleep much on friday night.

Dirk (=handy man) does not like silicones at all (watch out ladies !) and therefore Ivo was prepared to make the BMW waterproof by filling all the holes and gaps with sticky silicone.

Because Ivo is not a real giant he fits very well in between the roll cage pipes but sometimes we heard a loud curse coming from the trunk…

Since the body work has come to an end we would like to thank all the bodyshoppers for all their “voluntary” work been done ! It is much appreciated !

Safety first !

We are obliged to make a fire wall between the cockpit and the trunk because of the fuel tank and pumps in the trunk.

Luc – a former geometrician – likes to make wooden models before starting to cut in metal.

The result of his hard work is a very solid back wall and trunk cover made of aluminum.

PWR-BOX testing

Due to a last minute change in the PWR-BOX we needed to do some extra testing to validate the accuracy and repeatability of the current measurements.

We decided to measure the current in each channel at a non invasive manner by means of hall sensors

Now we just need to wait for the proto’s to arrive..

First paint…

The first paint has been been sprayed on the car…

The bottom and the inside received a nice white colour coating after being sand blasted. White is going to be the base colour for the car (inside and outside)

Now we can start polishing the rest of the car to prepare it for the final paint job.
